Birchbox Review: Meg

Ah, it's the buzz word that everyone has been hearing....Birchbox!  What is Birchbox? Why does everyone love it? 

The basic idea behind Birchbox is sampling.  For any guy or gal who has walked into Nordstrom, Sephora, or other beauty superstore, it can be overwhelming.  There are a LOT of products out there!  How do you choose, how do you narrow down your choices, how do you decide?

This is where Birchbox comes in.  As stated on their website, "Birchbox is the leading discovery commerce platform. We are redefining the retail process by offering consumers a unique and personalized way to discover, learn about, and shop the best beauty, grooming, and lifestyle products on the market."  Once you enroll in the monthly program, you receive your "box" every month.  It's samples of products from leading manufacturers, as well as newcomers you might not know about.  The women's box includes make-up, skin care, and a few non-beauty extras.  If you subscribe to the men's box, you get grooming products as well as lifestyle accessories.

Of course, if you fall in love with one or more of your samples, you can buy the full size version on their site.  Birchbox prides itself on their loyalty program.  The more you provide feedback on your samples, refer friends, and buy, the more points you earn; you can use those points toward purchases on their site.

Birchbox has gained quite the loyal following.  It's so popular, there is a one month (approximate) waiting list to subscribe to their monthly box!  So, if you plan on giving it as a gift, plan ahead!  They have been featured in the press frequently, too.  You can click here to visit their press room.

Even if you don't subscribe to the monthly "box", you can always view what has been included in this month's box on their website.  It's a fun way to see what other beauty insiders are sampling, trying, and loving.

I also love their magazine that they feature on their site.  It features current trends, hot-to beauty tips, highlights from the current month's box, and much more.  It's in an easy-to-read format and with easy access to it via the internet, you can read it at your convenience on the go or at home.

Truth be told, I am on the waiting list for Birchbox!  And I can't wait.
